Having always been fascinated by animal behaviour, I feel incredibly grateful to be studying it. My research interests lie at the intersection of cognition, sociality, and culture in animals including humans. I am captivated by the “social mind” that allows animals to use social information and make social decisions.
Originally from Düsseldorf, Germany, I completed a BSc in Biology at the University of Cologne while also completing a few courses in Psychology at the University of Düsseldorf. I then moved to Cornwall for an MSc in Evolutionary and Behavioural Ecology, during which I studied pair-bond strength and cooperative nest building in jackdaws pairs.
During my (nearly completed) PhD, I have been investigating the consequences of social relationships and networks in wild jackdaws across different contexts. For example, social relationships can matter for information transmission, foraging, and physiological and affective states.
